How to Invite Your Accountant

Give access to your accountant through the Coconut Accountant Platform

If you have an accountant, you can share access with them to the Coconut Accountant Platform.

This feature enables accountants to access your financial data, manage transactions, and ensure your records are up-to-date.

They'll get access to view your transactions, receipts and notes, as well as view and amend the categories on your income and expenses to make sure that your books stay accurate and up-to-date.Simply head to Coconut Web and login to your account. Click the account icon (top right) and select 'Invite your accountant'.

Before inviting a new accountant, verify if an accountant is already linked to your account. Remember, you can only have one linked accountant at a time.

Enter the email address, name and number (if known) of the accountant you wish to add, then hit send. Coconut will take care of the rest!

Inform your accountant to expect an invitation email from Coconut, and advise them to check their spam or junk folder if they do not see it.

Troubleshooting Missing Accountant Invite Option

If you are unable to see the 'Invite Accountant' option on the website, consider the following:

  • Accountant Already Linked: The absence of the invitation feature may indicate an active linked accountant. Confirm whether your existing accountant can access your account.

  • Contact Support for Manual Assistance: Provide your required accountant’s details to Coconut support to process the invitation.

Resolving Access Issues for Linked Accountants

  1. Check Account Details

    • Ensure that the accountant’s email and name match what is on record. If their email address has changed, inform Coconut support to resend the invitation.

  2. Restore or Approve Accountant Access

    • If access for your accountant was revoked unexpectedly or they report missing transactions, provide Coconut with specific details to investigate the issue. Once resolved, have your accountant attempt to log in again.
