MTD for Income Tax - Bridging Template: Sole Trader Non-Consolidated Reporting (Turnover over £90,000)

This guide covers how to use the Coconut Bridging Template for your quarterly MTD ITSA submissions. This is for self-employed sole traders with an annual business turnover over £90,000 for the 2026/2027 tax year

Key Rules for Using the Template

  • One Spreadsheet Per Trade: If you have more than one self-employed business registered with HMRC, you must use a separate copy of the bridging template for each individual business reporting obligation.

  • Maintain MTD Digital Links: Use formulas or cell links to pull the final figures from your own bookkeeping spreadsheet into this template. Do not manually type or re-key the totals, as HMRC requires an unbroken digital link.

  • Cumulative (Year-to-Date) Submissions: Update and submit this template for each of the four quarters. Because you use year-to-date figures each quarter, any retrospective edits you make to previous quarters will automatically be included in your submissions.
