This error is typically sent back from HMRC when the HMRC account you are linking to Coconut is not yet configured for MTD.

Whilst you may already have a HMRC Gateway account you are still required to register for MTD directly with HMRC.

Please register <a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/sign-up-your-business-for-making-tax-digital-for-income-tax" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">HERE.</a>

Once HMRC have confirmed your registration has been completed please return back to Coconut to complete the setup.
