We have a restriction on purchase attempts made manually, without a secure checkout, so you won't be able to use your Coconut card in this way.

For example, you might be asked to share your card details over the phone or in writing so that the merchant can enter them on their side. Naturally, there's a risk that someone else gets hold of your card details and does the same thing so we don't have this functionality.

As a general rule, we strongly recommend against sharing your card details with anyone else, storing them on a shared device or keeping them anywhere someone else might have access.

You can ask the merchant for an alternative payment method, such as Chip+PIN (if you're available in person), a secure E-commerce checkout or their account details for you to pay via bank transfer in the Coconut app.

If that's not an option and you want to pay using your card manually, you might be able to use a personal card and transfer over from your Coconut account to record the business expense but if you're unsure or if you think this is suspicious, just chat to our team via the app or email and we'll be there to help.
